All of our regular anglers are reminded that the fishing season will come to an end next Sunday, October 29th.

The loch will not be open for fishing after this date, and will remain closed until the beginning of next season.

Opening dates for the start of the 2018 season have yet to be confirmed, but will be posted here in due course.

02/09/2017 - Dawn 'til Dusk Fishing

Just a reminder to all of our anglers that as of September 1st, night time fishing came to an end on the loch.

Anglers will now only be allowed to fish during daylight hours for the remainder of the season, therefore no camping/overnight fishing is permitted until May 1st next season.

June is the month for anglers who like the competitive side of things and the chance to win some big money prizes as we host our two annual open competitions this month.

On Saturday 17th June, The Armstrong Open takes place. Adults and children are welcome to participate with the opportunity of big money prizes for the winners. The competition lasts from 7.30am until 3.00pm and a £2 entry fee applies on top of your normal permit cost. For more details please see the advert on the home page of this website.

The Open Fly Competition takes place on Friday 30th June. This lasts from 7.00pm until 11.00pm with prizes for anglers with the winning catches. A £2 entry fee is also applicable for this competition on top of normal permit costs.

All anglers who held a season ticket last year but have yet to renew for this year can still do so, however with the first month of the new season almost over already, time is running out before the renewal deadline.

Anyone who wishes to renew is encouraged to do so before the deadline set by the club, which is Sunday 30th April.

Renewals can be completed by contacting Sam Armstrong on 07982666610, or alternatively by speaking to bailiffs at the loch.

10/03/2017 - Opening Week Update

Although there were poor weather conditions, there was a good turn out of anglers to mark the start of the new fishing season at the Lilly Loch. The loch had stockings of fish prior to the first day of the season, and most anglers caught at least one fish, the heaviest reported weighed in at 5lbs, with other fish larger than that also said to have been caught.

Anglers who had a season ticket last year but are yet to renew for this season can still do so, either by paying bailiffs at the loch or by contacting Sam Armstrong on 07982666610 to make arrangements. Last year's ticket will then become valid for use this season.

The Lilly Loch re-opens to anglers for the 2017 fishing season today(Saturday 4th March).

Anglers can fish for Rainbow Trout using Powerbait, spinning or the fly - no livebaits until 15th March when the Brown Trout season begins. All ticket prices remain the same as last season, and season tickets are available to buy from the hut from today.

Tight lines for the season ahead.
